In Collective DAOs, a DAO can propose necessary expenses through an Expense proposal, such as:
- Pay for due diligence work for members or third-party service providers during the investment process.
- Pay for legal fees incurred during the investment process.
- Pay for third-party service fees incurred during the investment process.
- Pay for operational expenses incurred during DAO operations, such as website maintenance fees, cloud service fees, etc.
- Provide any contribution rewards for DAO members.

An Expense must go through three stages: submission of the Expense proposal, voting, and execution.
Step 1: Submit A Expense Proposal (By Member)
In a Collective DAO, any Member can submit an Expense proposal to pay for a certain service fee, remuneration, or reward.
You can initiate an Expense proposal by clicking on Expense proposal card from the Management page in the Collective DAO.
The Expense proposal includes the following sections to fill in:

Title | The title of this expense, such as official website development costs. |
Tag | The tag for this expense, such as Development. |
Description | Introduction to this expense. |
Link | You can provide more information about the expense through an external link. |

Expense Receiver | The receiver of this expense. |
When you are finished, click Submit button to complete the proposal submission.
Step 2: Voting (By Members)
Once an Expense proposal has been successfully submitted, it is ready for voting. When the proposal moves into voting period, any Member of the DAO may vote. Check out Voting for more details.
Step 3: Execution
When an Expense proposal reaches the end of the voting period, anyone can click the "Execution" button to execute the results.
If the proposal is approved (vote passes), clicking Execution will transfer the amount of funds set in the proposal from the DAO fund pool to the expense receiver's wallet address.
If the proposal is not approved, clicking Execution will cause the Expense proposal to fail and close.
